Artist Background
Pohl grew up in Santa Barbara, California. Adopted at birth and raised knowing both birth parents and adoptive parents, she had a unique childhood. She grew up with a keen interest in human relationships and the world around her. This cultivated an observational look at the world and an artistic eye.
In 2006, she and her family moved to Dayton, OH where she attended The Miami Valley School. She took a unique blend of art classes including: glass bead making, graffiti art, mosaics, and classic figure drawing/painting classes. After trying her hand at several forms of art, she gravitated toward painting and drawing, specifically focusing on nature and landscapes.
She then attended Elon University where she minored in Studio Art. In her painting classes she gathered inspiration from the beautiful scenery in both California and Ohio. Through art she hopes to emphasize the fact that no matter where you are, there is beauty to be found.
After graduating with a B.A. in Cinema, she pursued a career in New York City where she now resides.
